Throwdown Thursday is a weekly thing (hosted by the Neverending Shelf & thanks to All Things Urban Fantasy who opened my eyes to it) where we tackle books with similar characters, covers, themes, etc. to determine which one rocks more. It is up to YOU to determine the winner.
Suzanne McLeod's cover art for the first novel within the Spellcracker series, The Sweet Scent of Blood, was the highlight of last week's Throwdown. The leading cover, termed as the more hype of the two up for comparison was the Russian.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week four cover designs -- Kat Richardson's Poltergeist and Underground Greywalker novels, two US, two German -- are up for the debate of preference.
In a second and third installment cover art comparison, where does your preference lie?
With the Poltergeist interpretations?
'Halloween is approaching when Harper agrees to investigate the members of a research group who’ve been attempting to create an artificial poltergeist. The head researcher suspects someone’s been faking the phenomena, but Harper’s investigation reveals something entirely different–they’ve succeeded. When one of the group’s members is killed in a brutal and inexplicable fashion, Harper must determine if the murderer is the ghost itself or someone all too human.'
Or . . . .
the Underground designs?
'Pioneer Square’s homeless are turning up dead and mutilated, and zombies have been seen roaming the underground–the city buried beneath modern Seattle. When Harper’s friend Quinton believes he may be implicated in the deaths, he persuades her to investigate. But the killer is no mere murderer–it is a creature of ancient legend. And Harper must deal with both the living and the dead to stop the monster and its master…unless they stop her first.'
This Throwdown will remain open until 18th August, 2010.

The US covers win my vote hands down!
Well, I'm a bit twisted on this one. I like the Roman "Poltergeist" one and the "Underground" US version. So, I suppose its a draw. :)
