Throwdown Thursday: Stray - Australian vs. Italian - Rachel Vincent

Throwdown Thursday is a weekly thing (hosted by the Neverending Shelf & thanks to All Things Urban Fantasy who opened my eyes to it) where we tackle books with similar characters, covers, themes, etc. to determine which one rocks more. It is up to YOU to determine the winner.

Nalini Singh's and Anya Bast's US covers for their distant and near releases of Archangel's Consort and Cruel Enchantment, were featured in last weeks Throwdown. The votes cast landed Archangel's Consort with the entirety. *Woot* for a frigging gorgeous cover!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week, two versions of the first installment within Rachel Vincent's Shifters series are up for the debate of preference. Both vastly different from one another -- with the focus either on the claw marks or revealing eyes -- they expose a tell-tale trait of the animal side explored in the book.

In a first installment comparison, where does your preference lie?

With the Australian version?

Or . . . . the Italian?

'I look like an all-American grad student. But I am a werecat, a shape-shifter, and I live in two worlds.

Despite reservations from my family and my Pride, I escaped the pressure to continue my species and carved out a normal life for myself. Until the night a Stray attacked.

This brush with danger was all my Pride needed to summon me back... for my own protection. Yeah, right. But I'm no meek kitty. I'll take on whatever and whoever--I have to in order to find my friends. Watch out, Strays--'cause I got claws, and I'm not afraid to use them...'

This Throwdown will remain open until 8th September, 2010.

Wow! Are they ever different one from the other! lol I'm not sure which I prefer, but the Italian one is more striking.

I like them both - for different reasons.

Oddly, I like the scratch on the first one. :)

The second one, I like the eyes.
